At Those Two Brothers That Paint, we take pride in turning everyday furniture into clean, modern pieces that elevate a room’s look. Our team recently completed a bunk bed painting project in Niagara Falls, Ontario, giving an older piece a completely refreshed appearance with a smooth, durable white finish.

Step One: Surface Preparation and Priming

As with any refinishing job, surface prep is the key to lasting results. The bunk bed was first cleaned, lightly sanded, and carefully inspected for imperfections. We then applied Sherwin-Williams Primer, chosen for its excellent adhesion and ability to create a uniform surface—especially important when transitioning to a bright white finish.

This step ensures that the final coats of paint bond properly and maintain their color and durability over time, even with regular use.

Step Two: The Perfect Finish – Gallery Series

For the topcoat, we used Sherwin-Williams Gallery Series, a premium finish known for its smooth application and professional-grade durability. The crisp white color instantly brightened the piece and gave it a clean, timeless appearance—perfect for a modern or coastal-inspired space.

Step Three: Precision Spraying with Professional Equipment

To achieve that flawless, factory-smooth look, our team used a Titan 300 sprayer equipped with a Graco tip. This setup allowed for precise, even coverage and minimal overspray, producing a seamless finish that looks as good as new. Spraying instead of brushing or rolling ensures a consistent coat with no streaks or brush marks—ideal for furniture pieces like bunk beds, cabinets, or doors.

The Result

The end result was a beautifully refinished white bunk bed that looks brand new and complements the room’s decor perfectly. This project is a great example of how professional refinishing can completely transform furniture without the cost of replacement.
